When a rescue team found him, the baby opossum, now named: Poncho, was climbed on its mother on the side of the road. Even though he was life – the chances of survival were incredibly, low for him. Nonetheless, he was brought at the Rare-Species Fund, a rescue center in South Carolina.

Fortunately, fate smiled at Poncho, because soon as he arrived at the sanctuary, he just met the sweetest creature – a dog named Hantu, who quickly became his adoptive mother. The babies opossum spend the first months of their lives climbed on their mother’s back, so when the volunteers at the Rare Species Fund noticed the white dog carrying the rescued opossum on her back, their hearts instantly melted.
